How the sky right now interacts with your birth chart

Transits are the movement of planets through the sky right now, and their interaction with your birth chart. We explain why some periods feel hard while others open up unexpectedly.

Your birth chart is a static snapshot. Transits are the movement. Every day planets move across the sky and 'touch' points in your birth chart. This is what creates different life periods.

How transits work

Imagine your birth chart as a fixed map with specific points. Transiting planets move across this map and form aspects to your natal planets. When, for example, transiting Saturn passes over your natal Mars, it activates the themes of Mars (action, energy, conflict) through the lens of Saturn (restriction, structure, responsibility). You might feel this as a slowdown, a demand for discipline, a need to do less but better.

Each planet moves at a different speed. The Moon passes through the entire chart in 29 days. The Sun takes a year. Saturn completes one orbit in 29 years. Pluto in 248. So 'Moon' transits are felt every month, while 'Pluto' transits happen once in a lifetime.

Slow planets — the main players

The most significant transits come from the slow planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. They stay on one point of the chart for months, sometimes lingering due to retrograde motion, and it's these that shape the major periods of life.

A Jupiter transit usually brings expansion, opportunity, good fortune (with a caveat: it amplifies everything present in that area of the chart, and that's not always pleasant). A Saturn transit brings trials — but also construction. A Pluto transit brings radical transformation that cannot be avoided.

Why some periods are harder

When several heavy transits activate the same area of the chart simultaneously, the period is objectively harder. This isn't pessimism — it's understanding the load. Like sport: one training session is effort. Five back-to-back with no rest is overload.

Knowing your transits helps you stop fighting the period and start working with its logic. If Saturn is pressing on your Venus — this isn't the time to force new relationships. It's the time to sort out what isn't working in the existing ones.
